Dit is de reactie van Synology:

Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting Synology Support.

When you start up NAS by two Disks, and create Volume during the DSM installation.

The default volume will be SHR (with one disk redundancy), it's  a normal behavior.

You could install the DSM without creating Volume, then manually create the Volume by Storage Manager.

Ik heb die optie niet kunnen ontdekken in de wizard van Web Assistant.
Denk dat Synology even moet aantonen waar je dan die keuze kunt maken, middels een printscreen.
Zou dat dus gewoon even vragen.

After checked again, in our currently design for the Value Series and J Series NAS product line.

It will create the SHR volume automatically during the DSN installation.

 

If the Volume already be created, you could  have to rebuild the volume. Please back up all of the data in the volume 1 first, then delete the volume 1.

Create a JBOD volume, or create two separate volumes on two disks, then restore data back.

 

I will pass your suggestion and feature request to our PM team.

Dat vind ik dus een bug, dit mag niet gebeuren, de klant moet altijd de keuze hebben.

En, DSN=DSM natuurlijk maar, we hadden dus wel gelijk
