Instabiliteit DS213+

Beste Forumbezoekers,

Sinds okt-2012 ben ik in het bezit van een DS213+ die tot voorkort redelijk naar wens heeft gewerkt.

Gegevens NAS:
- 2x ST3000 (3TB disks van Seagate)
- DS213+
- GB-netwerk omgeving

Doel NAS?:
- Bekijken van diverse media vanaf de NAS via 2x DUNE players.
- Opslag voor documenten + films/series etc etc.

Probleem:
- NAS bevriest, is in sommige situaties niet te pingen, de DSM loopt vast en is niet meer te benaderen. Gevolg: uit en aanzetten.

Dit gebeurt bij het bekijken van films/series, maar ook als ik een kopie wil maken van de 1,3TB aan data die op de NAS aanwezig is. Dit kopier ik dan naar een 2TB ext. schijf via e-sata, USB of over het netwerk, welke manier ik ook probeer het resulteert in het herstarten van de NAS.

Wat heb ik al gedaan?
- DSM geupgraded van 4.1 naar 4.2 (geen verschil)
- Broncontrole geeft aan dat er niet een te hoge CPU of Mem belasting is, maar je ziet de statistieken wel bevriezen na verloop van tijd tijdens het kopieren van zoveel data.
- Ben nu dus kleine brokke data aan het overkopieren omdat dit wel goed gaat, alleen een grote hoeveelheid in 1x gaat dus helemaal mis.

Kan iemand mij hier adviseren of helpen?

Is er nadien niets bijzonders in de log te zien?
Je kan een ticket aanmaken bij Synology, vragen ze waarschijnlijk om de logbestanden.
Wie weet zien zij iets bijzonders.

Persoonlijk zou ik een hard reset doen (met behoud van data) en de dsm van scratch opbouwen. Bij direct problemen zou ik een ticket aanmaken bij synology. Anders pakket na pakket rustig instaleren om zo uit te sluiten dat het geen 3rd party pakket is wat de instabiliteit veroorzaakt.

@MartijnDez: Betekend een hardreset ook dat alle commandos die ik via telnet in dat ding gedaan heb ook weer netjes naar fabrieksinstellingen gaan? Bij een hardreset ben je letterlijk alle nasleep van 3 party packets en commands af?

Met de twee maal zoveel seconden de resetknop indrukken is DSM eraf, niet de data.
Dan zet je DSM er opnieuw op en zou alles weer "als nieuw" moeten zijn.
Begint de NAS dan weer te herstarten is er iets niet in orde.

De NAS herstart niet uit zich zelf tijdens de data kopie tussen ext disk en NAS. Dat doe ik. Dit omdat de DSM bevriest en ik niks meer met de NAS kan doen totdat ik hem zelf herstart.

Extra info als het probleem zich voor doet:
- Kan ik via het UNC pad niet meer bij de shares.
- Bevriest de DSM en bij verversen is deze niet meer te benaderen (pagina kan niet worden weergegeven)
- Het IP adres van de NAS is nog wel te pingen (maar soms ook niet).
- Alle lampjes zijn groen van de NAS, na herstart wordt er geen LOG vermelding van het daadwerkelijke probleem gemaakt, alleen "unproper shutdown".

Mijn plan voor vanmiddag:
- Reset uitvoeren via button achterzijde nas.
- Daarna reset uitvoeren via software DSM.
- Disks 1 voor 1 aan PC koppelen + formatteren (misschien wel checken)
- Daarna disks in andere volgorde terugplaatsen in BAY.
- Dan raidset weer builden en checken.

Om problemen te verkomen kan je beter de partities verwijderen ipv formatteren. Je (Windows?) pc formateerd met ntfs (of fat32) en je diskststian met ext4.

Na herhaalde malen van resetten via button en via DSM nu eindelijk de data aan het terugkopieren. Maar voordat ik dit deed moest helaas de NAS hardhandig uitgezet worden omdat de Syn. Ass. het apparaat niet meer vond, en ik het hele IP adres ook niet meer kon pingen. De enige actie die ik gister avond nog aangezet heb op de NAS is een pariteits-check omdat ik de Disks in een SHR heb gezet. Toen ben ik uitgelogd en gaan slapen... Momenteel zit mijn ext.disk via e-sata op de NAS aangesloten om 700gb terug te pompen. Ik vraag me af of ik dit ding uberhaupt nog wel kan vertrouwen ....
