nas to nas copy over utp?

hi does anyone know if it is possible to connect two nas with a network cable and make a backup/mirror?
would that be faster then copying over a network?

It is not possible and if it was it would not be faster at all.

If you connect the NAS-ses with an UTP cable directly to each other, how can you access the web-interfaces at all to initiate the copy? YOU CAN'T!
Also adding a switch (a decent one!) will not decrease the overal speed over the UTP cables.
