Zonder ongeduldig te willen zijn vroeg ik me af of er nieuws is met betrekking tot de ontwikkeling van Optware en een bootstrap voor de DS508. Thanks!

Ik heb er al naar gekeken, echter ben ik eerst nog met een ander project voor de DiskStations bezig.. daarna staat de 508 op mijn lijstje... :-)

Ik durf het bijna niet te vragen ...... , zijn er misschien al onwikkelingen in verband met de bootstrap voor de DS508?

Ik ben eerst een week naar Orlando (FL,USA) volgende week. Daarna ga ik er weer mee aan de slag..

Is there anybody working an a bootstrap and a DS508 optware feed here?

There is an interesting thread in the english synology forum:

I'd like to create a toolchain, bootstrap and packages for DS508, as described here:

I want use the syno-x07 feed/toolchain as basis and only change some settings only:

If it works, we can add it it to the plattforms from http://www.nslu2-linux.org/ (http://www.nslu2-linux.org/) where all the packages get compiled automatucally for all plattforms, when someone updates a package.

@andreask2: as you probably have already spotted, there is some activity in the US thread. I would be open to work together with you, but unfortunately I would not know where to start, sorry for that. I have yet to discover and work my way through all "how-to's" on installing optware on the Synology  :oops: .

FYI, AFAIK mdamen is (also) still considering to look into this matter.

I already had contact with the optware team, I gave them the toolchain already but they don't prioritize it since other vendor's give them support (read hardware) and Synology doesn't (at this moment)
As soon as I have some spare time to compile atleast the SABnzbd required packages I will post them on my website.

Hebben we daar iets aan?
