Hoi Rob,
Groet
Bedankt, ik heb ze het volgende bericht:
Maxtor 7V250F0
damaged *.jpg when transferring from PC to DS. Time, size, etc of the affected files stay the same
1. direct connection PC-DS doesn't help
2. using different PC or OS doen't help
3. transferring form PC to PC: no problem
3. using Windows explorer: problem exists
4. using tools like Killcopy (safe and fast tranfer): NO problem
5. problem did (probably) NOT exist with the first FW releases (e.g. before Photo Station)
6. problem exists (as far as known!!) just with *.jpg from Canon Ixus
7. when transferring on maps inside DS, no pronlem; damaged stays damaged, undamaged stays undamanged
8. problem exists ONLY when transferring in MAPS, not with isolated files.
9. Damage is irreversible
1. install map with undamaged jpg-files from Canon Ixus on local HD
2. transfer as a map to DS
3. files damaged (about 35% of them). Damage is irreversible
4. For example (before and after) see:
http://download.yousendit.com/1F4B30514B07A4BCIf useful, on request I can place a map with undamaged pictures for experimental use on Yousendit
Note: remote acces to my DS 106e is not permitted; is in use at my office, so it is is blocked by a professional hardware firewall to the outside world, moving the DS to the DMZ of the router is too risky. Splitting the DS in a DMZ and safe zone isn't possible for the DS.
